Jolly Craft of Box Art
Ranelagh Arts Festival’s Exhibition of Contemporary Visual Art
September 2012

This is a showcase of art obects I made from recycled (up-cycled) materials. I like working with materials such as old magazines, papers, old phone derectories and various boxes and containers. Usually they get discarded, recycled or just thrown out but could be reused in many ways. Some stuff lying aroind could be used and reused to make art objects, play objects, costumes, decorations. The possibilities are endless and results are quite original and personal.
For example use my Crocko the storage unit for small arty stuff in my studio to store paints, small paintings, notebooks, brushes, cards, objets, various art supplies. It suits me more, than conventional schelves and tables. I like to move around the sudio and would often work on the floor, rather on the table. All boxes in the Crocko are detachable. I can easily add some new ones, repaint, redecorate or make another obect.
I believe that visual art is all about communication, participation, and sharing ideas and skills and that a higher level of the arts can be achieved by engaging people's curiosity and willingness to explore, express and create.

I use Makedo a connector system (look for blue re-clips).
